I loved it. This story has a hot cop for a hero and he has two buddies. They will each get there on stories I am sure. They have been friends since childhood and are now all adults in their mid-thirties. Adam is a detective and in his spare time he skates on a local hockey team. He seems to have problems choking up in the championship games. So his best friend sets him up with a friend of his to help him find out why he is blowing the final games to keep them from winning the trophy Naturally he doesn't feel he needs a coach and is very reluctant to go along with this plan.

The coach is the heroine of the story. She is a very successful young woman. Beautiful, smart, very successful and in demand as a lecturer. All is going well until she starts getting weird emails that are of a creepy nature. Then it starts to escalate, phone text, etc. are starting to scare her. So there is a bit of suspense, stalking, lots of sexy scenes as these two let their chemistry explode!! it is a very good story. I really liked it and I definitely recommend it. It is very entertaining and a good read. I am looking forward to finding out who will be the last bachelor standing!!.

The first Last Bachelor Standing (Max and their other pal Dylan to follow) is a thrilling contemporary romantic suspense as Adam and Serena help each other in and out of the boudoir. Readers will enjoy the best buddy camaraderie between the three amigos, but it is the heat generated by the lead couple that could melt the ice at the NHL's 2014 Winter Classics (in Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Soldier Field and Vancouver's' BC Place) that make this a wonderful first period.

So Max asks his good friend Serena Long, a famous performance coach, to work with Adam and find out what is wrong, and improve his game.
Adam is furious with his friends, he doesn’t need a shrink or a performance coach, thank you very much. But from the first moment Adam lays eyes on Serena, he wants her. She reminds him of a dominatrix he once arrested, with her black clothes and her self assured look.
Adam reluctantly agrees to work with her. At first he thinks it a lot of nonsense, especially the homework she assigns him. But he does it anyway, and it really has merit.

And then someone starts stalking Serena, scaring her, and Adam steps in to protect her. Max also owns a security business, and they promise Serena to protect her, day and night, with Adam covering the night part.
But Serena really hates to be shadowed everywhere she goes, someone watching her all the time, and Adam certainly is very over protective. Serena is a self made woman; she has built her own very successful business from the ground up, and has some very important clients. She has more business than she can handle. And now her very capable assistant wants to become a partner.

I loved the hot romance part of this story, but the mystery part is even better, as Nancy Warren very cleverly pointed my attention in the wrong direction the whole time. When Serena got taken by her stalker, that was a scary part, as the guy is a real nutjob and has planned it all very well. Adam is there just in time though … as he did not tell Serena how much she was looked after … even though she kicked him out of her apartment.

Nancy Warren has written a really good story, with very life like and likeable characters. It was a surprise when Adam found out what was holding him back, and how he dealt with it. I liked this book very much, and I will read the next book in this series very soon. I like her writing style and her sense of humor. It fits me perfectly.

Recommended reading if you are in the mood for a fun and relaxing in-between book for your paranormals.

Seriously hot and entertaining. I hadn't read a blaze novel for a while and I'm glad I found this one!
I've been on a bit of a Nancy Warren binge over the past few days and am so happy to have rediscovered her books. I read the second in this series first for some reason and decided to go back and read this one. I can't put my finger on it but it just lacked this author's usual magic. I really loved the H, who is all alpha and wonderful so it's probably down to the h. She's a control freak but I also think she had some TSTL moments and I don't easily forgive those. The h agrees to help the H overcome his choking issues in big hockey games, although he doesn't want her help. They begin working together and then the h discovers she has a stalker. The H is a cop and he immediately wants to protect her and initially the h reluctantly agrees. Anyway the first half of the book was better than the second where the h has her TSTL moments. It's worth reading if you intend reading the series
