Saving Zoe A Novel Alyson Noël Books
I feel I have to write a review for this book in case there is anyone else that comes by it that has ever been in my shoes or Echo's for that matter. It almost came as a form of therapy reading this, for me at least.Just days after my 15th birthday, I lost my sister. My older sister and only sibling. No, she may not have died in the same manner as Zoe but her death was just as tragic and traumatizing.
I had the unfortunate luck to be a part to finding her half drowned after an accidental over dose. She died only a few days later.
It was during the summer between 9th and 10th grade and going back to school I didn't really give any thought to how it was going to be. I have to say; reading Echo's experience with the attempt to resume a normal life was true and honest for me. I've been there and my experiences were very similar if not exactly as describe.
I was able to connect with Zoe as well and with how Echo was able to learn who she was through her diary because my sister was not so much unlike Zoe in a lot of ways.
There was a part in the book where Echo mentions how she just always assumed that her sister was always going to be a part of the grown up life she was going into, now that she was gone, she didn't feel ready. I can totally relate to that. I went through the same thing. My best friend and closed confidant left me stranded in a big scary world and she was now never going to be there for any of the milestones that I selfishly just assumed she was going to be a part of to escort me through. Homecomings, proms, first everything's etc. Echo now has to go through all those alone. Yeah she has her friends but they can never fill the vacancy that the loss of Zoe as left and no one ever will. They also will never, as hard as they try, can truly understand what she is going through so they can only be so much help so mostly it's just Echo alone until she can pull herself up.
I don't know, I've jabbered on enough. I just had to say just how much this book meant to me and just how close it got to, at least my, real life experiences.
Thank you Alyson Noel for this one.

Saving Zoe A Novel Alyson Noël Books Reviews
my friend has the book and is a fast reader , I was hoping this was from a different book but I was wrong , anyway she really like the book
I loved this book. It was extremely heart felt, and shows you how much you really don't know about the ones you love. You find out how it really was for them only after the ones you love are gone. This book pulled at my heart strings, anyone that love to read and read something heartfelt, somewhat funny needs to read this book.
Simply GREAT book! Couldn't put it away - read half the book one morning. Exciting, well written, keeps the reader "hooked" until the very end. Absolutely recommendable!
This book just kept me reading on and on and there was never one part where i was bored. I was always waiting to see what would come next and it made me want to cry at some points. I could always connect to the same emotions as Echo, which made it eveen more amazing to read. This book is definitely a great book for tween girls and a great book for me. This book is totally recommended.
Sad book, but worth the read. Alyson Noel is a wonderful author and I would recommend reading anything that she writes.
This book has a very interesting topic. And considering this was written by Alison Noel... I liked it, but, obviously it has major flaws. (Spoiler alert! But dont worry, the book doesnt have a lot of surprises, so you are not losing much).
Alyson Noel`s writing doesnt appeal much to me. I dont think she is a good writer, in fact I find her writing poor and horrible. I dont know why she is so reknown and considered as a good writer.
In Saving Zoe, Echo, having just lost her sister Zoe a year ago by the hands of a serial killer, discovers her diary, and finds out that her older sister wasnt who Echo thought she was.
And, then the story begins.
Until now, I dont understand why the hell Echo decides to be like her sister. To live her life, as reckless as it was, reckless enough that it led her to the ominous destiny of being decapitated. And, although she tries, of course Echo is NOT Zoe (thank god). And this whole thing, the "I want to be my sister - but Im not - but I will make myself be - but I cant" drama, really did nothing but make the character unbelievable, and the story unstable.
I didnt connect to Echo, not in the least, and Zoe just seemed like this total selfish girl who had a terrible destiny, one I would really have liked to avoid. Apart from the "poor girl" factor the two sisters shared (one for being lost, and the other for losing the other one) they didnt have much to offer.
Anyway, despite all this, this book wasnt one I regreted reading, since it leaves you some lessons (although they are pretty obvious ones dont arrange dates with weird people you meet on the internet, dont let anyone videotape you having sex, etc.) and it reassured my conviction that Alyson Noel is a horrible writer. Because, believe me, she is.
I think the topic could have been developed in a way that would have made the book much more interesting, it is just a shame the author didnt write it well.
As if starting her freshman year in high school wasn't bad enough, Fifteen-year-old Echo has to deal with finding closure from the brutal murder of her older sister, Zoë.
It isn't until Zoë's former boyfriend shares Zoë's diary with Echo that she realizes Zoë had a lot more secrets than she expected. As she reads the entries in her diary, the truth is set free.
I found myself engrossed in the storyline and eager to know more about Zoë and her sister Echo. An awesome story about loss, love and redemption.
Two thumbs up!
